Dr. Brenner obtained certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery in 2007.

The American Board of Surgery

The American Board of Surgery (ABS) is an independent, non-profit organization founded in 1937 for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training and knowledge. The ABS certifies surgeons in the fields of general surgery, vascular surgery, pediatric surgery, surgical critical care, surgery of the hand, and hospice and palliative medicine. The University of California, Irvine

The University of California, Irvine Medical Center is a world-class academic medical center and the only university hospital in Orange County. Opened in 1976, the 449-bed medical facility offers a full scope of acute- and general-care services, including a regional burn center, Level I Trauma Center, neuropsychiatric center, Level III neonatal care unit and a National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated comprehensive cancer center. It was here at Irvine’s Aesthetic and Plastic Surgery Institute that Dr. Brenner received his plastic and reconstructive surgical training.

Researchers at UC Irvine Medical Center are developing alternative tissue replacement strategies to prevent the need for harvesting donor tissues during reconstruction. It was here at the Center for Biological Tissue Engineering that Dr. Brenner completed his research fellowship, studying the growth and behavior of various types of cartilage and bone tissues.

Rush University Medical Center

Dr. Brenner completed his training in the discipline of General Surgery at Rush University and Cook County Hospitals in Chicago, Illinois. With one of the busiest programs in the Midwest, surgeons at Rush University Medical Center operate on more patients than are seen at any other hospital in Illinois. General surgeons at Rush offer a full range of surgical care, including expertise in the latest minimally invasive techniques, abdominal, colon and rectal surgery, surgical care for cancer patients, pediatric surgery, breast surgery, endoscopic and endocrine surgery. The program is integrated with Cook County Hospital, one of the busiest city hospitals in the country, which has a long and distinct reputation for teaching. The first trauma service in the country, which has served as a prototype for all the rest, was started at Cook County Hospital. The clinical and scientific scholarships of its staff are widely recognized throughout the country.

Loyola University Chicago, Stritch School of Medicine

Loyola University Health System is a nationally recognized leader in providing health care and in conduction groundbreaking research to treat heart disease, cancer, organ transplantation and neurological disorders. Loyola University Medical Center (LUMC) is the core of Loyola and one of the nation’s leading academic medical centers. As part of the Loyola system, The Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine chooses students who will become physicians that care about standards of service, excellence, and dedicated patient care. Stritch students become good physicians not only because of what they have learned, but also because of who they are. That is why Loyola chose Dr. Brenner, and why Dr. Brenner chose Loyola.

The University of Wisconsin, Madision

The University of Wisconsin–Madison continues to be Wisconsin’s comprehensive teaching and research university with a statewide, national and international mission. The primary purpose of the University of Wisconsin–Madison is to provide a learning environment in which students can discover, examine critically, preserve and transmit the knowledge, wisdom and values that will help ensure the survival of this and future generations and improve the quality of life for all. The university is particularly well known for preparing students for a medical education. Dr. Brenner chose to attend the University of Wisconsin, Madison so that he could focus on his pre-medical studies and learn from the university’s Bio-Core curriculum, a four semester rigorous interactive honors biology program.

Procedures

Mommy Makeover

A Mommy Makeover is a combination of body contouring procedures that helps mothers return to their pre-childbearing, girlish figures. Most commonly, a Mommy Makeover is performed in one stage and consists of a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty), and breast enhancement with implants (breast augmentation). However, a Mommy Makeover can also be split into two operations (staged) and can include other procedures such as breast lifting (mastopexy), breast reduction (reduction mammaplasty) and liposuction of the abdomen, hips, thighs and back. Each Mommy Makeover is unique and is tailored to your individual needs. Dr. Brenner has devoted a large part of his practice to perfecting the multiple operations that comprise The Mommy Makeover.

Rhinoplasty

The analysis of the patient's nose, their goals, and expert surgical technique are of the highest importance. That is why it is important to find a qualified plastic surgeon who has extensive experience in performing rhinoplasty. Dr. Brenner has devoted an exceptional amount of time studying rhinoplasty techniques and has even written numerous peer reviewed articles and book chapters about the multiple facets of nasal surgery. During your consultation with Dr. Brenner, a comprehensive review of your aesthetic goals will be reviewed. Additionally, evaluation of your nasal airway will be performed to help determine any functional problems that you may have with your septum (i.e. septal deviation) or turbinates (i.e. turbinate hypertrophy).

Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck)

Tummy Tuck (also known as abdominoplasty or dermal lipectomy) is a procedure that can remove the "pooch" of excess skin that lies below your navel. It can get rid of stretch marks and turn a very visible vertical C-section scar into a small bikini line that's easy to conceal. For most women, this procedure can be done on an outpatient basis with a one night stay at a nurse-supervised surgical recovery facility. Dr, Brenner can also perform this operation at the same time as a tubal ligation, labial rejuvenation or hysterectomy, in conjunction with a patient’s obstetrician. This combination of procedures may require a short in-patient hospital stay. When combined with liposuction and surgical breast contouring (augmentation, lift or reduction), the operation is called The Mommy Makeover.

Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation is one of the more commonly performed operations by Dr. Brenner. Dr. Brenner tailors the procedure to meet each patient’s specific desires. Many variables such as the incisional approach, implant location, type of implant, tissue characteristics, and patient wishes are all considered to obtain the best outcome for each patient. Options for breast implants now include saline and silicone breast implant devices. Dr. Brenner can perform breast augmentation on an outpatient basis, either alone, or in combination with other body contouring procedures.

Post-Bariatric Body Contouring

The Total Body Lift is a procedure where all of the major body contouring operations are performed in a single stage. This operation requires a great deal of planning and preparation as the time for recovery is somewhat extended. During the Total Body Lift, many of the troublesome areas of excess, hanging skin can be treated together in one operation.  This operation is not for everyone, but for the right patients, it works great.  It typically requires a hospital stay of three to five days and about 6 weeks prior to returning to work. For those patients who are not candidates for, or do not wish to have a one-stage operation, the procedures can be done in two or more stages at separate times.

Botox Injections

Dr. Brenner can help you prevent wrinkles and facial aging with Botox. The cosmetic form of botulinum toxin, often referred to by its product name BOTOX®, is a popular non-surgical injection that temporarily reduces or eliminates frown lines, forehead creases, crows feet near the eyes and thick bands in the neck. BOTOX® Cosmetic is a purified protein produced by the Clostridium botulinum bacterium, which reduces the activity of the muscles that cause those frown lines between the brows to form over time.

Breast Capsule Surgery

Capsule contracture, the most common complication of breast augmentation surgery, occurs when patients have an exaggerated healing response in the breast tissue during which the capsule will tighten, and squeeze the implant. This may cause the breast to feel hard, and to appear distorted. In severe cases, the implant feels very firm, may become painful, and can take on a "ball-like" look. Dr. Brenner has extensive experience treating patients with capsular contracture and routinely performs breast implant exchange, removal of capsule tissue and other operations designed to correct these deformities.

Breast Lift & Reduction

A breast lift or reduction offers immediate relief from problems (sagging, stretch marks, skin rashes, bra strap grooving, lower back pain) as well as an immediate self-image boost to women with extremely large or saggy breasts. These procedures allow a woman to have her breasts re-configured, bringing them into natural proportion with the rest of her body. Dr. Brenner frequently performs these operations as a component of The Mommy Makeover.

Chin Augmentation

Chin Augmentation is a common procedure which brings balance to the facial structure by way of correcting a weak chin due to congenital deficiency, age-related bone resorption or facial trauma. This procedure can be as simple as injecting a temporary soft tissue augmentation filler to implanting a silicone or Porex chin implant, to having a genioplasty.

Endoscopic Brow Lift

The Endoscopic Brow Lift is a wonderful solution to the deep furrows between the eyebrows and lines of expression on the forehead. Eyebrows tend to fall as the face ages, resulting in redundant upper eyelid skin and a general tired look. This operation, performed through small incisions hidden in the hair-bearing portion of the scalp, is a terrific alternative to the older and more invasive open brow lift.

Eyelid Surgery

Tired eyes are a very common symptom and sign of facial aging. Although frequently performed in combination with other types of facial rejuvenation and facelifting, Eyelid tuck (blepharoplasty) is a quick operation designed to correct the puffiness and excess skin that exists in both your upper and your lower eyelids.

Facelift

A good facelift can easily reverse the multiple signs of aging that develop on your face as you get older. Dr. Brenner understands that everyone’s face is unique and as such requires a different strategy for rejuvenation. Dr. Brenner takes great care to assure that your facial rejuvenation surgery will offer a conservative, yet refreshed look afterwards.

Laser Treatments

Dr. Brenner uses the Pixel Laser for fractional skin resurfacing of the face, neck, arms and hands. He also uses the Soprano Laser hair removal system, for fast and virtually pain free laser hair removal.

Liposuction

Liposuction is a method of removing pockets of fat build-up through tiny incisions that are strategically placed in different body areas. Liposuction can help sculpt the body by removing unwanted fat from specific body areas, including the abdomen, hips, buttocks, thighs, upper arms, chin, cheeks or neck.   Liposuction can be performed safely in an outpatient setting, so long as the total amount removed is judicious. Liposuction is commonly performed in combination with other procedures, such as abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), breast reduction and breast augmentation.

Soft Tissue Fillers

Soft tissue fillers are flexible substances that can be injected into the skin to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, plump lips, fill hollow cheeks, repair various facial imperfections, improve scars, and elevate deep folds. The result is a smoother, more youthful appearance with minimal "downtime" and maximum safety. Dr. Brenner most commonly uses one of the hyaluronic acid-based fillers (Restylane®), Juvederm), but can also use autologous fat (one's own fat) to restore facial contours more permanently.
