The mission of the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Inc.® is to promote safe, ethical, efficacious plastic surgery to the public by maintaining high standards for the education, examination, certification and recertification of plastic surgeons as specialists and subspecialists. The American Board of Plastic Surgery, Inc.® is the only board recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties to credential plastic surgeons. All board-certified plastic surgeons have satisfactorily completed an approved residency training program and have passed rigorous written and oral specialty examinations.

University of Southern California, Division of Plastic Surgery

A position in the Plastic Surgery Program at the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles is highly coveted, and sought after by numerous applicants from all across the country. Dr. Patel was selected to be part of this highly regarded, competitive training program. The program provided an unparalleled exposure to all aspects of plastic surgery and variety of practice settings. Her experience and training included cosmetic surgery in Beverly Hills and Santa Monica, reconstructive surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, City of Hope, USC Medical Center, Norris Cancer Center, Kaiser Permanente, and Rancho Los Amigos, pediatric plastic surgery at Children's Hospital Los Angeles, trauma surgery at Los Angeles Country Hospital, and burn surgery at the Los Angeles Country Burn Center. Dr. Patel trained with some of the leading plastic surgeons in Los Angeles, and uses this training to build a successful practice combining aspects of both cosmetic and reconstructive surgery.
